The first YouTube Music Awards is scheduled for Sunday, November 3rd, and will be directed by Spike Jonez. The ceremony will be live-streamed on YouTube, and will feature musicians who owe YouTube for much of their success, as well as some firmly established musicians who see YouTube as a valuable tool for sharing and promoting new music. Nominees for the various awards will be announced on YouTube in mid-October. Winners will be chosen by popular vote.
