Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, the name of Aly Spaltro’s solo indie project, hails from Portland, Maine. Spaltro has been recording amazing music since 2007, and was named 2010 Folk Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards. This song is one of many powerful pieces on her most recent album, which features her signature ability to charge from hushed tones to controlled screams. The lyrics reflect one piece of the album’s narrative, seemingly about a journey from romantic infatuation to recognition of personal strength. It’s a great song – haunting and empowered. Dig it, Devils!
